Is it safe to take part in a clinical research

Participation in a clinical research entails certain risks. They can be connected to the medicament itself, i.e. treatment can be accompanied by unpleasant effects which are unknown to the doctor. That is why the goal of such a research is to study properties of a new medicament. The risks can be connected to the procedures that are provided for the research, for example, blood tests can lead to subdermal hematomas (“bruises”), unpleasant sound of MRI, etc. It needs to be mentioned that, before starting a clinical research, all potential risks are being carefully analyzed, and if these potential risks outweigh potential benefits, the research does not take place.
